The Color of Water No. 2
In this study, the language of water becomes more architectural—rhythmic blocks and softened edges echoing the steady, grounding calm of the shoreline. Deep navy and slate tones rest beside lighter washes, like fragments of horizon lines meeting the sky.
The brushstrokes feel deliberate yet open, offering a quiet balance between movement and pause. Each shape holds its own weight, while still belonging to a greater, fluid whole—much like the way the ocean organizes itself into patterns that shift the moment you try to truly see them.
There’s a stillness here. It invites contemplation: how water can be both strong and gentle, structured and free. This painting holds the peace of standing at the edge of the sea, aware of its power but wrapped in its quiet.
