The Color of Water No. 5
Soft blocks and overlapping strokes drift across the page like small notes of color carried by a quiet tide. This piece feels intimate—an exploration of how water holds both movement and memory in the simplest shifts of light and depth.
The palette, drawn from my larger seascapes, becomes deconstructed and rearranged here, forming a quiet rhythm of blues. Each brushstroke sits with a sense of purpose, yet the edges remain soft, allowing the painting to breathe and flow. Together, the shapes echo the way the ocean collects fragments—reflections, shadows, moments—and arranges them into something beautifully cohesive.
“The Color of Water No. 5” is a meditation on stillness within motion. It invites the viewer to look closer, to notice the subtle spaces between strokes, and to feel that familiar calm that comes from being near the water: grounding, contemplative, and softly alive.
